Although Rhian’s experience with Shakespeare is limited to studying him in high school, she has been in a lot of theatre. She played leading roles in Follow, Follow, Follow; Nearly There, Falling and Before the Birds, been involved in several MUDS productions, and festivals, studied theatre papers and devised and performed her own theatre with the Grindhouse Live company.
She is involved with A Midsummer Night’s Dream firstly because she wants the chance to work with Jaime, but also because she feels that all actors need to take on Shakespeare at least once, so it will offer her a good challenge and the chance to grow as a performer.
Adam Brown (we have to give the surname, since we have three Adams in the show) has recently graduated from UCOL’s Certificate in Performing Arts, and played Anne in Madame De Sade at the end of 2010. He is involved with Summer Shakespeare for the experience and for a productive way to spend the summer. He thinks you should come and see the show because Jaime is a brilliant director.
Stacey loves Shakespeare, loves this play and the process that goes into creating theatre. She has studied Shakespeare and performed in a number of productions at college and at Massey, including The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Our Country’s Good, Badjelly the Witch, The Sound of Music, Love Actually and Waiting For Godot. She recently played a very vocal corpse in To the Terra, one of the plays in the Festival of New Arts.
Jacob has been very busy over the last year or so: in 2009 he was a member of the Basement Company and appeared in Miss Saigon and Spamalot, began 2010 playing Donalbain and First Murderer in Macbeth, and has since been in the Festival of New Arts and played the Comtesse de Saint-Fond in Madame De Sade. Between this he has managed to complete the UCOL Certificate in Performing Arts and direct Three Little Pigs at the Globe.
