Manawatu Summer Shakespeare ‒ A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Home

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most enduring comedies, and one that lends itself beautifully to being performed outside, as it is largely set in the woods outside Athens.

In the beautiful environment of the Rose Garden at Palmerston North’s Victoria Esplanade, Director Jaime Dörner will explore the play’s themes of love, magic, dreams and confusion, bringing a new and exciting interpretation of how the magical world and ‘reality’ intersect.

With music by Kane Parsons, costumes by Claire New and choreography by Chilean dancer, Marisol Vargas, this year’s Summer Shakespeare promises to be a fantastic — and fantastical ‒ show.
